Yacht Wedding in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
One of our favorite things about photographing weddings is watching our client’s families grow. Becky and Jim hired us to photograph their wedding after we photographed Jim’s daughter’s wedding at the Boston Seaport Hotel in Massachusetts the year before. The intercoastal waterway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida provided the perfect backdrop for the intimate and family-focused destination wedding of Becky and Jim. Officiated by the yacht’s Captain in front of a small group of their closest family and friends, Becky and Jim’s intimate destination wedding demonstrates that the heart of a wedding ceremony are the people you are celebrating with! Becky and Jim got ready at GALLERYone Hilton Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. We started the day with family portraits in front of majestic Banyan trees in Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. With mysterious above-ground roots, these tropical plants make for an ethereal and other-worldly backdrop. Once on the yacht, we set sail through the intercoastal waterway of Southern Florida and the casual, friendly, and intimate atmosphere was a joy to photograph. The sincere love and care between Becky, Jim, and their loved ones was palpable as the theme of their wedding was to just have fun! Below deck, the wedding reception included a dance floor, tropical seaside-inspired menu, and nautical-themed decor including the most adorable cake.
