Actors and TV hosts Jonathan Bennett and Jaymes Vaughan tied the knot in a gorgeous week-long destination celebration in the Mexican Riviera Maya. The fabulous UNICO 20°87° resort, immersed right at the interface of jungle and beach, hosted the grooms and their wonderful posse of friends and family. Not only are Jonathan and Jaymes talented performers, but they are also relentless advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. After a heartbreaking experience with a venue that refused them because they are gay, the grooms shifted focus and decided that they would use their wedding to highlight and uplift queer talent in the wedding community. They planned their nuptials with an inclusive, tradition-busting mindset and crafted innovative and modern updates to wedding tradition including a gender neutral wedding party (all in black tuxedos), a unique ceremony entrance that gave equal weight to each groom, a custom “ring-flipping” ceremony, a drag performance and choreographed dance number, and a surprise fireworks display!
